Have you ever been asked what you’d like for your birthday, Christmas, etc., and drew a complete blank? As if you’ve never once thought about what you desire or need in your life? That’s me, absolutely HORRIBLE at recalling what I want, especially when directly asked.
Presents Are Awesome
I like receiving presents! But I think people are socialized to respond with the “Oh I don’t need anything!” line when asked. Women in the South are, at least! And because of that early and effective socialization, I suck at actually remembering what to ask for at the moment. Deer in the headlights moment.
