Currently Reading
What am I reading this week?
I thought I would make a post about what I am currently reading. Unfortunately, I am not reading quite as much these days because of work commitments, but I read at least a little every day. However, with the school year ramping up, my reading time has dwindled to only the late evenings before bed for the most part. Sadness, indeed.
As a voracious reader, I almost always have my Kindle Unlimited maxed out and have to finish reading something before I can download any more books. I understand why there are download limits, just like when checking out books from the library. However, it’s still annoying to run up against. I find that whenever a book is released that I’ve been looking forward to reading I have to figure out which book to return. Usually, that means a book that has knocked down the to-be-read queue gets returned and there’s a high likelihood that I will forget to re-download it and actually read it. Which is such an unfortunate thing.
ARC Books
Furthermore, the books I get from a review site as ARCs take precedence over books that I get from Kindle Unlimited. Usually, there is a deadline that I have to adhere to. So once I commit to an ARC I stop reading what I’ve been plugging through in my queue and read those ARCs before anything else.
Right Now
Currently, I am reading three ARCs that I will be reviewing.
Sports Romances are my Weakness
Look, I don’t even like sports. But there’s something about MM sports romances that just do it for me okay? I’m reading Tumbling the Cornerback by Meridith Spies. I love it. I am almost finished with this one and it will be getting a high review from me, so look forward to my post. It’s sweet and I love the main characters. It will be released tomorrow, September 13, 2024 so you don’t really have to wait long before you can read it too.

2-4-6-8, Who Thinks Cooper Howard’s great?
Everyone but me! I’ve been busting my backside for three years as one of the handful of male cheerleaders in the league and it takes Cooper “Coppertop” Howard five minutes to knock me back down to the status of laughing stock. All of my hard work for the cheer squad’s fundraiser up in literal smoke thanks to his size twenty feet and lack of spatial awareness. You’d think the brand-new cornerback the team shelled out an insane amount of money for would be able to navigate tight turns better but the pile of charred pom poms and Austin Troopers mascot plushies begs to differ. When Cooper tries to make it up to me, I do the only thing I Tell him where to stuff it. But he’s determined. And sincere. And… okay, he’s really hot and he’s really winning me over. Maybe accepting his apology wouldn’t be so bad? Not if it means repairing my image and comes with a side of hot, sweaty football player in my bedroom…This is part of the Austin Troopers shared world and can be read as a standalone. It features opposites attract, the grumpy one and the sunshiney one, a smidge of hurt/comfort, and a happily ever after.

A Fan of Jax Calder
After I read The Unlikely Pair by Jax Calder I knew I would snatch up anything I saw coming across the lines by them, so I snagged Hired by the Enemy by Jax Calder as an ARC. It will be published September 13, 2024 but it has previously been part of an anthology so it’s already been read and reviewed by many. But I will review it when I am finished. I have until September 20th to complete my reviews, so reading this is my top priority this weekend.

Liam
I’ve landed my first big assignment with Elite, and it has the potential to be a financial game-changer, so I’m determined not to screw it up. All I have to do is pretend to be a wealthy CEO’s boyfriend on a sun-kissed tropical island for a week. How hard can that be?
Unfortunately, I’m met at the airport by an unexpected blast from my past: Matthew O’Conner. The nerd who lived next door to me growing up—also known as my lifelong nemesis.
This job just got a whole lot more complicated.
Matthew
My blood runs cold when I spot Liam sauntering through the airport doors. Of all the people in the world to show up to be my fake boyfriend for a week, why did it have to be Liam Jamieson? Mr. All-American Charm. The jock with a smile that melts everyone—except me. We’ve been at odds since childhood, trapped in an endless cycle of pranks and one-upmanship.
And now we have to pretend we’re in love? This is going to be a complete disaster.
Or is it?
It turns out Liam and I have both grown up since high school. And maybe, just maybe, we never actually knew each other to begin with.

One Last ARC
The last book I am reading is The Little Things in Love by M.C. Roth. I haven’t properly started this book yet. The preview is good, so I look forward to getting my feet wet with this one. This is a new-to-me author. I hope it is good! The release date is set to be September 24, 2024
Blurb:
The best parts of love are the little things.
Annan is a cowboy at heart and quicker to propose than he is to fall in love. When he proposes to his most recent fling in the middle of an upscale restaurant, Elgin spots him for the first time.
Elgin is there with his husband Wallace—the man of his dreams.
When Annan’s date takes off with his car, Wallace offers him a ride home. But at the first joke in the car, Elgin feels himself slip and asks Wallace to take them to their place instead. Back at their place, Wallace calls the shots, inviting Annan in and showing him everything that love can be.
As they all make love, Annan and Elgin have no idea that Wallace has a painful agenda of his own.
246 pages, Kindle Edition
Of course, I will be reviewing all of these books once I am finished reading, so look forward to those posts in the MM Romance Book Review area of my journal.
